Subject: Long Island Vacation Reports
Dear Mishpachah (family):
I would like to thank everybody for their special
prayers that God's Will would be done in my most recent vacation trip
to Long Island, New York. I felt in my heart that this trip was
divine from God but I had no idea in my natural mind before going the
importance and significance of it.
I went to Long Island with the primary purpose of visiting a
friend of mine that I met at a campmeeting in Florida in Jan 1995.
His name is Jacob. It was my thought and intent in visiting Jacob
that I would spend the week talking with Jacob about God and life and
return home when the week was over. However, God had other plans
which confirmed that this vacation was really a divine appointment
from God for me to visit Long Island.
On Monday, I had dinner at a friend of Jacob's named David.
Another friend, Kenny also came to the dinner. Jacob, David and Kenny
all go to the same church and are the pastor's "right hand men". The
pastor has six to eight men in the church who work closely with the
pastor to support the vision of the church. They are called the
"Joshua's". On Monday, I shared Chapter 13 of my book, "Who is the
Bride of Christ?" which is about God's Covenent with Abraham.
Kenny was praying before he came to dinner on Sunday night
that the Lord would remove the dryness that he was
experiencing spiritually. Kenny got all excited when I shared the
message and told the Pastor. The Pastor then asked me to speak for 30
minutes in the Tuesday morning Bible teaching at the church. I was
told that normally the Pastor doesn't attend the Tuesday morning
Bible teaching but because he invited me to speak for 30 minutes and
wanted to hear what I had to say, he came to the Bible study. I
shared on Deut 6:23 about how God brought the children of Israel out
of Egypt to go to the promised land and how the process of leaving
Egypt (a type of the world) and going to the promised land (doing
God's perfect Will in our life) was a prophetic blueprint of the walk
of each believer in Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah.
The pastor was real excited after the meeting and asked me
to speak to the entire church on Thursday night. The pastor was
concerned about what I would share on Thursday night. He asked me to
share for about 50 minutes. So, I prayed to God to seek His heart
concerning what He wanted me to teach. God gave me His answer.
What else but about our Hebraic Roots!
God put it in my heart to share about the birth, childhood, teachings,
ministry, death and future return of Yeshua/Jesus from Matthew, Mark,
Luke and John (the four Gospels) to show that Yeshua/Jesus was born
a Jew, lived a Jew, taught as a Jew, ministered as a Jew, died as a
Jew and is coming back as a Jew and will teach the Torah to the
nations from Jerusalem during the Messianic Age (Isaiah 2:2-4).
God spoke to my heart before I taught this message and told me that
He wanted the people in the church to see the Jewishness of Jesus and
the Jewishness of the Gospels and the NT. God spoke to my heart and
told that this message was going to plant a SEED in the church that HE
would cultivate and bring much fruit after I left and returned back
to Ohio.
The pastor was completely touched by the message. Jacob told me that
the pastor did something that he never did in the past. He told me
that I was a family member of the church and he took up an offering
for me to show his love and apprecation. Jacob told me that when the
pastor takes up an offering for a guest speaker that he NEVER gives
the guest speaker the entire special offering. However, the pastor
gave me the ENTIRE special offering for me as well as an additional
gift from the pastor's heart in the name of the church. The pastor
asked me twice if I would be interested in returning at a later date
to the church and speak for an entire weekend seminar. I said that if
future arrangement could be made that I would do so.
On Friday night, Kenny invited me to speak to all of the "Joshua's"
(the pastor's 'right hand men'). Kenny was the head Joshua for the
month of December. Kenny wanted me to share the same message
that I shared on Monday night with David and Kenny to the rest of the
"Joshua's". Kenny had asked the Pastor if I could speak to the
Joshua's and the Pastor gave no indication that I was not aloud to do
so. However, when a couple of Joshua's began to raise questions to the
pastor on Saturday and Sunday morning about how Christianity has
departed from it's Hebrew roots, the pastor got defensive and on
Sunday morning before church in the Pastor's office ALL of the Joshua's
got STRONGLY REBUKED for learning "head knowledge".
It was my plan before I left for Long Island to leave on Saturday
morning. However, when I went to start my car on Friday night after
concluding giving my teaching to the Joshua's, my car would not
start. Jacob and I tried to get the car started on Saturday. It
would not start. So, I spent Saturday night for about 5 hours with
two of the Joshua's, Victor and Greg. On Sunday afternoon and evening,
I spend more time with another two Joshua's, Kenny and David.
On Friday evening, I could not understand why my car wouldn't start.
After being able to spend more time with the Joshua's discussing our
Hebraic Roots of Christianity on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon
and evening, I understood that in light of the fact that the Pastor
STRONGLY REBUKED the Joshua's on Sunday morning for listening
to me sharing further about the Hebraic Roots of Christianity that God
wanted me to spend more time with the Joshua's to solidify the
Biblical teaching on the subject as I spent hours sharing the Word of
God and so He therefore allowed my car not to start
so that I could spend this unplanned extra time with the Joshua's.
The money I received from the special offering taken on Thursday
night after I spoke from the church was $50 less than it cost to
repair my car. God is so good that He provided for the cost of fixing
my car before I knew that the car wouldn't start because He wanted
me to spend more time sharing with the Joshua's about the Hebraic
Roots of Christianity !!! I would not have done so if my car had started
on Friday night because on Saturday morning I planned to drive home to
Ohio.
My car was not fixed until 5Pm on Monday. I left for Ohio at 6:30PM
on Monday, December 15th. I drove 9 straight hours to my home in Ohio
and drove 500 miles getting home at 3:30 AM on Tuesday morning.
Because I missed a day of work on Monday, my boss gave me permission
to work 10 hours each Tuesday through Friday of this week to make up
for not going to work on Monday. Because of the extra hours of work,
I do not have time to put out a "normal" newsgroup. Therefore, the
newsgroup this week will be more brief than usual.
Thank you so much for your prayers for me this past week. I had NO
PLANS to do anything but visit my friend Jacob for the entire week
but God arranged for me to speak TWICE in Jacob's church and several
times to the "Joshua's" in the church ALL by the DIVINE hand of God.
On Sunday night as Kenny, David and I was talking about the Pastor's
reaction on Sunday morning in chastising the Joshua's, David told me
that he was at a church prayer meeting several weeks earlier and God
showed him a Babylonian statue that was broken into pieces. When
David began to see what happened during the week and recalled the
vision that God gave him at the prayer meeting, he realized that God
was referrering to some of the Babylonian things within the church
and how God was breaking it to pieces with the teachings of how
Christianity departed from the Jewish roots of it's faith which I
shared throughout the entire week.
Therefore, it seems that God had a greater plan for me going to Long
Island rather than just visiting my friend Jacob. God wanted me to
plant seeds in a specific church in Long Island, New York regarding
the Jewishness of Yeshua/Jesus and embracing the Hebraic Roots of
Christianity. So, I praise God for His faithfulness and your prayers
which supported me! God will fully complete the work that He has
started and I believe that these seeds that He has allowed me to sow
into this church will ultimately produce a rich harvest in the Long
Island area. Hallelujah! Baruch HaShem! God is good and His mercy
endures forever!
Shalom in Messiah,
