The Ancient Israelites worshipped Baal and also applied the name Baal to God
Himself as reported by Hosea.

[Hosea 2:17] FOR I WILL TAKE AWAY THE NAMES OF BAALIM OUT OF HER
MOUTH, AND THEY SHALL NO MORE BE REMEMBERED BY THEIR NAME.

The Celtic Inhabitants of Britain called themselves Iberi, or Iberni,
or Hiberni which as all names meaning Hebrew. They also worshipped
"Baal" whom they referred to as "Bel".

EVIL UPON THEM, WHICH THEY SHALL NOT BE ABLE TO ESCAPE; AND THOUGH

[Jeremiah 11:13] FOR ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF THY CITIES WERE THY
GODS, O JUDAH; AND ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF THE STREETS OF JERUSALEM
HAVE YE SET UP ALTARS TO THAT SHAMEFUL THING, EVEN ALTARS TO BURN

They worshipped baal and even worshipped God under
the name of baal. The "Celtic" in habitants of Britain and Ireland
also worshipped baal whom they called "Bel". Britain was known as "the
honey isle of Bel". The Romans nicknamed Britain "Happy Arabia". If
you look on the Maps of Ptolemy you will see that the term "Arabia" in
Greek and Roman nomenclature could encompass a good part of the
ancient boundaries of Israel.

BOTTLE, AND TAKE OF THE ANCIENTS OF THE PEOPLE, AND OF THE ANCIENTS OF
THE PRIESTS;

[Jeremiah 19:2] AND GO FORTH UNTO THE VALLEY OF THE SON OF HINNOM,
WHICH IS BY THE ENTRY OF THE EAST GATE, AND PROCLAIM THERE THE WORDS
THAT I SHALL TELL THEE,

"VALLEY OF THE SON OF HINNOM" in Hebrew "Gai
ben Hinom" or in short "Gai Hinom" rendered popularly as "Gehinom" and
given a meaning synonymous with hell.

[Jeremiah 19:3] AND SAY, HEAR YE THE WORD OF THE LORD, O KINGS OF
JUDAH, AND INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM; THUS SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS, THE

[Jeremiah 19:4] BECAUSE THEY HAVE FORSAKEN ME, AND HAVE ESTRANGED THIS
PLACE, AND HAVE BURNED INCENSE IN IT UNTO OTHER GODS, WHOM NEITHER
THEY NOR THEIR FATHERS HAVE KNOWN, NOR THE KINGS OF JUDAH, AND HAVE
FILLED THIS PLACE WITH THE BLOOD OF INNOCENTS;

[Jeremiah 19:5] THEY HAVE BUILT ALSO THE HIGH PLACES OF BAAL, TO BURN
THEIR SONS WITH FIRE FOR BURNT OFFERINGS UNTO BAAL, WHICH I COMMANDED
NOT, NOR SPAKE IT, NEITHER CAME IT INTO MY MIND:

They used to offer up human sacrifice, especially infants to Baal. This was a Canaanite
practice. Carthage in North Africa was founded by Canaanites from the
Phoenican cities of Tyre and Sidon. There too archaeologists have
discovered evidence of massive human sacrifice of little children. The
places concerned are termed "tophets". All ancient sculptures appear
at some time or other to have practiced human sacrifice. The Druids in
Celtic Britain and in Gaul also practiced human sacrifice according to
reports on a large scale. The Druids also worshipped "baal" or "Bel"
as he was referred to. "Bel" was the Mesopotamian (Assyrian and
Babylonian) pronunciation of "Baal". Concerning the Celts we have
discerned the presence of Israelites in general throughout the Celtic
world but especially in the West of Europe where druids and megalithic
monuments (dolmens) were present. Abortions and euthanasia are also in
general similar to forms of human sacrifice. The motivation is often
similar and their adherents practice the cult of human immolation with
an almost religious dedication. Ruth Schechter wrote works in Hebrew
on philosophy and national ideologies. I do not know if her works
have ever been translated into English. Some of her claims overlap
Brit-Am beliefs, for instance she claimed that the National Ideology
of the English was basically Hebraic. [The German nationalist
philosopher Walter Sombart described the USA as socially and
ideologically a "Jewish" nation]. Ruth Schechter claimed also that the
Nazi destruction of the Jews had the same rationale as human
sacrifice.

[Jeremiah 19:6] THEREFORE, BEHOLD, THE DAYS COME, SAITH THE LORD, THAT
THIS PLACE SHALL NO MORE BE CALLED TOPHET, NOR THE VALLEY OF THE SON
OF HINNOM, BUT THE VALLEY OF SLAUGHTER.

[Jeremiah 19:7] AND I WILL MAKE VOID THE COUNSEL OF JUDAH AND
JERUSALEM IN THIS PLACE; AND I WILL CAUSE THEM TO FALL BY THE SWORD
BEFORE THEIR ENEMIES, AND BY THE HANDS OF THEM THAT SEEK THEIR LIVES:
AND THEIR CARCASES WILL I GIVE TO BE MEAT FOR THE FOWLS OF THE HEAVEN,
AND FOR THE BEASTS OF THE EARTH.

[Jeremiah 19:8] AND I WILL MAKE THIS CITY DESOLATE, AND AN HISSING;
EVERY ONE THAT PASSETH THEREBY SHALL BE ASTONISHED AND HISS BECAUSE OF
ALL THE PLAGUES THEREOF.

[Jeremiah 19:9] AND I WILL CAUSE THEM TO EAT THE FLESH OF THEIR SONS
AND THE FLESH OF THEIR DAUGHTERS, AND THEY SHALL EAT EVERY ONE THE
FLESH OF HIS FRIEND IN THE SIEGE AND STRAITNESS, WHEREWITH THEIR
ENEMIES, AND THEY THAT SEEK THEIR LIVES, SHALL STRAITEN THEM.

[Jeremiah 19:10] THEN SHALT THOU BREAK THE BOTTLE IN THE SIGHT OF THE
MEN THAT GO WITH THEE,

[Jeremiah 19:11] AND SHALT SAY UNTO THEM, THUS SAITH THE LORD OF
HOSTS; EVEN SO WILL I BREAK THIS PEOPLE AND THIS CITY, AS ONE BREAKETH
A POTTER'S VESSEL, THAT CANNOT BE MADE WHOLE AGAIN: AND THEY SHALL
BURY THEM IN TOPHET, TILL THERE BE NO PLACE TO BURY.

[Jeremiah 19:12] THUS WILL I DO UNTO THIS PLACE, SAITH THE LORD, AND
TO THE INHABITANTS THEREOF, AND EVEN MAKE THIS CITY AS TOPHET:

"TOPHET" means the place of human sacrifice where the murdered
bodies were consumed.

[Jeremiah 19:13] AND THE HOUSES OF JERUSALEM, AND THE HOUSES OF THE
KINGS OF JUDAH, SHALL BE DEFILED AS THE PLACE OF TOPHET, BECAUSE OF
ALL THE HOUSES UPON WHOSE ROOFS THEY HAVE BURNED INCENSE UNTO ALL THE
HOST OF HEAVEN, AND HAVE POURED OUT DRINK OFFERINGS UNTO OTHER GODS.

[Jeremiah 19:14] THEN CAME JEREMIAH FROM TOPHET, WHITHER THE LORD HAD
SENT HIM TO PROPHESY; AND HE STOOD IN THE COURT OF THE LORD'S HOUSE;
AND SAID TO ALL THE PEOPLE,

[Jeremiah 19:15] THUS SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS, THE GOD OF ISRAEL;
BEHOLD, I WILL BRING UPON THIS CITY AND UPON ALL HER TOWNS ALL THE
EVIL THAT I HAVE PRONOUNCED AGAINST IT, BECAUSE THEY HAVE HARDENED
THEIR NECKS, THAT THEY MIGHT NOT HEAR MY WORDS.

We should listen when
God warns. God speaks to us through events and surroundings. Very
often when disaster or misfortune comes upon us we have been warned
beforehand either by other people or by previous events that we should
have learned from. We are all proud. Pride is a necessary part of the
human constitution. Everyone suffers from failures and rejections in
their lifetime. This is part of living. Pride helps us overcome the
feelings of inadequacy caused by events and weaknesses. Nevertheless
pride is an enemy of ours and often prevents us from learning from
mistakes and beginning again. True honor means meeting adversity and
living as well as we can, i.e. being as good as we can. We should
realize that every day is a gift and an opportunity to make life
worthwhile.

NOTE FROM EDDIE:

There is a growing belief and movement with SOME Messianic
[Israelite] circles that when referring to the God of Israel that we
should speak the sacred name YHVH.

As a means of INFORMATION and EXPLANATION (to help you in your
studies), the Jewish community does NOT use the name YHVH today.
Instead they use substitutes or synonyms for the name like HaShem
(the name) or write it (when speaking English) as G-d or when
speaking Hebrew if they don't use (HaShem) they say (Adonai).

Among the various reasons and explanations for this practice is
that the nation of Israel is in EXILE. In Biblical thought, EXILE is
linked with the God of Israel (YHVH) 'hiding his face'. However, the
Jewish community believes that when the redemption takes place (the
restoration and reunfication of both houses of Israel) (Ezekiel
3:15-28) that then the God of Israel (YHVH) will no longer 'hide his
face' and HIS presense will be REAL to BOTH those who are called by
His name and the human secular world.

When the ingathering of the exiles / Messianic redemption
(Ezekiel 37:15-28) happens then the SPEAKING and WRITING of the
sacred name YHVH will be restored.

This can be seen from an article written by a rabbi in Israel
(Rabbi Pinchas Winston) and an affirmation of the belief from an
e-mail which I sent to him recently.

will be pronounced and said either:

Presence, and, in fear and in love, to unify the Name Yud-Heh with

I know that YHVH was pronounced historically by the High Priest
on the day of atonement.

The G-d of Israel or even the Moshiach seems to be described as
being "hidden". The exile is seen in terms of the concept of "hidden" or
"concealed" and that HaShem is "hiding his face". Even the Shechinah
is seen as being in exile. In fact, there are many references in the
Torah and prophets of "hiding the face".

At the time of the historical Egyptian redemption, Moshe said,
'I want to see your glory (or face?)'.

So, is it an Orthodox Jewish concept that during
the Messianic redemption or at the dawn of the Messianic redemption that
which was "hidden" (the name of YHVH or even the Messiah) will be
"revealed" (the name of YHVH will be pronounced and the Messiah will
be clearly known and accepted as Messiah by the entire nation of
Israel and the entire world). Would this understanding be correct? If
not, can you clarify and explain further?

Correct. In the Days of Moshiach, G-d will be revealed, His Name will
be pronounced as It is written, and Moshiach will be the universal
prince.

they may be one)

#2) The unification and glorification of the name of YHVH

#3) Through these two events that the world would know that Messiah
